Also on day two of this week's much important test, Dominique Aegerter completed a tight program at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and finished 14th on the timesheet after improving his time by more than a second.

A brief rain shower on Friday morning caused a delayed start at the race track not far from the Catalan capital. However, Dominique Aegerter was one of the first riders to start the second and last day of testing shortly after lunch time. For the 33-year-old Yamaha rider, the wait was very unpleasant, as he and his experienced technical crew had once again compiled a long list of tasks, which they were finally able to complete diligently working till 6:00 pm. Aegerter finished the test in 14th place, one second off the fastest time, a week before the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship returns to race action for its second stop at the same venue.

"Our second day here in Barcelona was also very stressful. We worked with both bikes and tried out different settings, worked on the electronics and also went through all tyre options. And of course we looked at and evaluated all the new parts Yamaha has brought. In the end, we went out with the qualifier tyre, which worked well. But our gap is a bit too big for my expectations, a few riders were very fast. But a test is a test and we should not let that intimidate us."

"We have to stay calm, because we collected good data on these two days, which will certainly be helpful in a week's time for the second round of the championship. A big thank you to my guys in the garage for their hard work. On the second day we did 78 laps without a break and everything worked perfectly. So it was a good test for us and I'm now looking forward to racing again in a week's time."
