WorldSBK rookie Dominique Aegerter did not get beyond eleventh place twice on Sunday in England.
As a newcomer to the high-profile Superbike World Championship, Dominique Aegerter suffered particularly from the changeable weather this weekend, as it caused him to lose a lot of valuable practice time. The mixed conditions on Friday afternoon had an extremely unfavourable effect, as the work schedule for free practice two normally includes a race simulation. The 32-year-old Swiss never found the confidence in his bike in Donington to be able to call up his full potential.
The championship continues in two weeks with the meeting in Imola, Italy.

"A difficult weekend has come to an end with a disappointing result in the second race. We tried something different in warm-up this morning because the conditions were good with a dry track. That was why we used a softer tyre. But it was difficult to draw any sensible conclusions as to whether the tyre was the better choice, or the setup was better. That is why we opted for a compromise for the sprint race. However, I quickly realized that I did not feel quite as comfortable and therefore I could not push as I would have liked."
"So, we had to reach into the bag of tricks again for the second race in the afternoon, which should help me to find a bit more confidence in the bike and having less to fight with. In the process, we managed a slight improvement. I think we were a bit more consistent than yesterday. In the end, though, the lack of Friday had a big impact. We simply missed the race simulation and also the basic set-up, as far as the electronics are concerned. In the race we then found out where we could have pulled the lever. Still, the position is disappointing because the group I normally fight with, or sixth place were not too far away. But I never had the confidence. Also, the bike was very tiring to ride at this track. Hopefully things will go better again in Imola, even though I only know the track with a race car so far."
