So to say straight after the chequered flag last Sunday in Barcelona, Dominique Aegerter and his GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK team rushed to Italy's Misano World Circuit for an important test.

This test today and tomorrow is mainly about preparing for the fifth meeting of the current FIM Superbike World Championship, which takes place on the first weekend of June at the same location. Dominique Aegerter knows the track not far from Rimini at the Italian Adriatic coast from the past, but with the Yamaha Superbike it is new territory for the 32-year-old Swiss rider. Provided the weather plays along, there are a few items on his test schedule.

"I am very happy that the team decided to participate in this test. I appreciate it, because the logistical effort is not insignificant. On the one hand it is about the trucks, but on the other hand it is also about sending the entire staff to Misano practically straight from the race weekend in Barcelona. For myself, the recovery break was also very short, with only one day at home in Switzerland. But in less than four weeks we already have the next race and that is in Misano."

"It will definitely be an important test for us, because the first thing is to get to know the track with the superbike, to find a set-up, which also applies to the electronics. Then, of course, there are the tyres. If we manage to get these points done quickly and establish a basis, then we can move on to a race setup. The main focus is on the early stages of a race, as we lost too much time in the opening laps recently. We have to improve in this point. But basically, these two days are about getting our package in good shape for the Misano weekend and, of course, for the rest of the season."
