2022/07/31 - FIM Supersport World Championship 2022: Czech Round / Sunday - Race 2

Excluded from second race in Most

Dominique Aegerter was not allowed to get back on his machine on Sunday after being suspended following an incident in the first race on Saturday afternoon.

After a disappointing first WorldSSP race at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic, where Dominique Aegerter was involved in a collision in the first corner after the start, he and his Ten Kate team were determined to make up lost ground on Sunday at lunch time.

However, the FIM WorldSBK Stewards Panel decided to suspend Aegerter and deny him a start in the warm-up and the second race of the weekend. Aegerter's comfortable lead in the overall standings over his first pursuer Lorenzo Baldassarri, who won both races this weekend, has melted to 14 points.

The Supersport World Championship will not resume until the second weekend of September with the seventh meeting of the season at Magny-Cours, France.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha, Yamaha YZF R6)
Grid position: - / Race 2: -

"First of all, I am terribly sorry for the whole situation that arose after the incident in race 1. As it was a very hectic situation, I did not act properly and made mistakes. There was a lot of pressure, adrenaline, and emotions. I never wanted to put other people in danger: I would like to apologize for that. The championship is not over yet, we are now focusing on the second part of the season, where I will work very hard together with the team to give the best possible performance every time. I want to thank the team and all the sponsors, my family, my friends and fans and everyone else for their unconditional support. We will never give up and we will see each other again in Magny-Cours."
