2022/02/22 - FIM Supersport World Championship / FIM MotoE™ World Cup 2022: Perfect season preparations

Perfect season preparations in Spain

As in previous years, Dominique Aegerter is once again spending most of his time in the warm conditions of Southern Europe for his winter training.

Immediately after his week-long service in the military at the beginning of January, Dominique Aegerter packed his van full of all kinds of motorcycles and bicycles and set off for Spain, where he once again found the best conditions in the areas of Valencia and Barcelona. For several years now, the ambitious athlete has been physically preparing there for the racing season.

Along the way, the 31-year-old Aegerter was also successful in his business of racing last winter. With Swiss companies ELYSATOR Engineering AG | engineering water and the brewery Aare Bier, he was able to gain two new supporters. In the case of ELYSATOR, this is a company that is active worldwide in the water treatment segment. With Aare Bier, the Rohrbacher succeeded in convincing a sponsor from his immediate vicinity to conclude a sponsorship.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER:

"My preparations last month were again so super. It again has fully paid off to go to Spain, especially since this winter was also very mild there. My training stay started in Valencia, where I was for two weeks. After that I went to Barcelona. In Valencia I also had the opportunity to ride the Yamaha R6 at the Grand Prix circuit there. But it was not easy to organize that. Otherwise, I always sat on a motorcycle four to five times a week. My training schedule includes two sessions a day. So, to train with a bike in the morning and then a daily fitness session in the afternoon with running, cycling or in the gym. Around Barcelona I had a lot of fun at different offroad tracks. Very often I met many familiar faces and fellow racers. We used these opportunities to push each other at the track every time. This has also resulted in some nice "battles". Of course, it's a great incentive when you train with world champions like Pedro Acosta or Julian Simon. Apart from that, you meet fast Spaniards or other racers practically every chance you get, and then you have a good session with them."

"Although my physical preparation for the upcoming season is far from complete - I will resume my training at the end of this month in Spain - I already feel in very good shape. I think I will be in top shape by the start of the season to tackle the challenges of Supersport World Championship and MotoE, achieving the goals I set myself or defending or improving on last year's results. But before that, there is still some homework to do. As I said, I will soon be back in Spain, where the first tests in both categories are already on the schedule either. From March onwards, it will be a bit more stressful with appointments. But that is part of my job. At this point I would also like to welcome two new personal sponsors. A big thank you to the responsible gentlemen from Elysator and Aare Bier for their trust in me. I will give everything to repay their support with many successes."
