2019/09/22 - Moto2™ WM 2019: GP de Aragón / Race Report

#AragónGP: MV Agusta has great potential

Although the still 28-year-old Swiss Moto2™ star remained without points in Sunday’s Aragón race, he is hoping for a turnaround soon.

On race day, Dominique Aegerter and his Forward Racing Team were unable to continue the slight uphill curve of the previous days. Aegerter showed a grim performance in good conditions at the demanding MotorLand Aragón circuit. Nevertheless, he never made it into the range of the top 15. After 21 strenuous laps, he finally saw the chequered flag in P20. However, Aegerter was subsequently rated 19th due to a penalty on another rider.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (MV Agusta Temporary Forward, MV Agusta F2), P19:

"We were able to gain experiences in the race, but the result is disappointing again. It's just frustrating when you’re not able to fight for points. I really did my best and the whole team made an incredible effort. Unfortunately, everything together didn't help. So, I have no other choice then to congratulate my team mate Stefano (Manzi) on two more points. He has improved a lot in the last races. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch up with his performances soon. But actually, I want to be stronger than him. But his performance also underlines very clearly that our bike has a lot of potential. On the other hand, I was always at the limit during the race, more was simply not possible."

"Therefore, I hope that we will continue to improve in some areas in order to get back into the points. I'm sorry for everyone who stands behind this project with so much passion and commitment. We’re not having an easy time at the moment. Furthermore, my future for next year is not yet secured. I haven't signed a contract yet. Hopefully this topic will be off the table next week. I want clarity it as soon as possible so that I can concentrate on my main tasks again. Only then can I look forward to my birthday and focus on the overseas races next month because I really like these races."
