#DA77: SIX ROW START AFTER DIFFICULT QUALIFYING

Dominique Aegerter displayed a determined performance during Saturday’s qualifying in changing conditions.

As on the previous day, the sky opened its locks above the Silverstone Circuit this afternoon too. A brief downpour caused chaotic circumstance at the recently completely new re-surfaced Northamptonshire track. A significant delay in the schedule was the result. However, until Moto2™ qualifying got started, the sun came back and the track dried out quickly in some sections. Therefore, Dominique Aegerter and his technicians in of the German Kiefer Racing team decided to go out for the time attack with a dry setting immediately, which initially paid off seeing the Swiss star racing at the front.

Schedule for race day includes a major change for this Sunday with starting time for round twelve at 3.30 pm CET.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing), Grid position 17th - 2´09.301 (18/18):

"Due to the difficult conditions, it wasn’t an easy qualifying today. In the beginning, three, four corners were still completely wet, but we went out with slick tyres straight away. I was able to find a good rhythm immediately and we were always amongst the leaders. But when the track finally dried out completely, I couldn’t improve any more like the others. That’s a pity. On the other hand, we have had a positive weekend so far overall. We are performing consistently good, always close to the top, even if we’re still missing a piece where we actually want to be. Of course, this step is not to master in a jiffy. But we always try and do everything and work hard to keep improving. But tomorrow could be an enormously difficult transition to us, if it should be raining heavily at the time of the race because so far, we didn’t have a session with completely wet track conditions this weekend. So, we have to wait and see what the weather is to do tomorrow. But no matter what conditions, I will certainly give everything."
