AGAIN FOURTH ROW START

During Saturday’s timed session at the Texan track, Dominique Aegerter confirmed their continuing progress by qualifying for eleventh spot on the starting grid.

Apart from some occasional rain during the day, the weather remained dry on the second day of practice in Austin. After the conclusion of qualifying, however, it started to rain heavily but for race day, the forecasts are more friendly again.

Regardless of the uncertain weather situation, Dominique Aegerter and his crew are still puzzles about the tyre choice for the race. The 5.5 kilometres long circuit is in itself a huge challenge to set up the bike properly though, the surface gives the German Moto2™ team additional worries about tyre performance. But apart from these circumstances, Aegerter showed consistently increasing learning curve aboard his Moto2 machine during both days of practice, ending in eleventh on the starting grid as a tentative highlight of the weekend so far.
Starting time for this season’s third race is on Sunday at prime time at 7:20 pm CET.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing), Grid position 11th - 2´11.309 (7/15):

"My grid position for tomorrow’s race is actually not so bad. Nevertheless, I did expect a bit more. But in my fastest lap I rode alone, a slipstream would have helped a bit for sure. But with just 0.7 seconds, we did not lose much time to the top guys. A good start, however, will be necessary in order to stay with the leading group. This we have set as our goal for tomorrow. We still have some work to do, but in general I’m very confident. However, we still face a difficult decision regarding tyre choice. Today, we worked with both options again, but we did not yet agree which type is eligible for the race. But I’m convinced that we will find a good solution for all cases. At the moment it is raining but the weather should be good again tomorrow."
