NEXT CHALLENGE FOR #DA77: THE TEXAN HORSE POWER RODEO

NEXT CHALLENGE: TEXAN HORSE POWER RODEO

After encouraging progress during the Argentina Grand Prix two weeks ago, Dominique Aegerter is looking forward to this weekend’s wild ride at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin.

For the second time this month, the World Championship crosses the Atlantic Ocean for the series’ visit to the US round in Texas. After his clear upward trend in Argentina, Dominique Aegerter has tackled the again very time-consuming trip loosely and self-confidently. In addition, the Swiss rider’s results at the amazing COTA in the past years give hope for a continuation of an increasing form.

The inaugural race of the Grand Prix of The Americas was just back in 2013. But the event has established itself very quickly to the series’ calendar. The breath-taking circuit along with the curvy and tricky 5,5 kilometres long layout itself as well as the open-minded hospitality of the Texas people are probably an important reason for this. Time difference to Central Europe is minus seven hours, which means that the Moto2™ race will take place almost at prime time on Sunday evening from 7:20 pm.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing) - Championship position 11th (9 points):

"I always like to come to Texas. The Circuit of The Americas is a track that makes me feel very comfortable. I think that this also clearly to see by the results of the recent years. The track’s layout is very diversified. It starts with a fast and flowing first section which is physically very exhausting though I also like the hard-braking areas where you gear down to first gear. In any case, it’s fun to ride in Austin at all. That’s why I’m looking forward to this race. Obviously, our performance in Argentina last time gives us a boost, where we have made a significant step forward. Therefore, I hope that we are able to continue where we stopped in Rio Hondo when we finished each session in the top ten. But that should not have been everything. Of course, we want to take the next step in Austin and add another one. Hopefully, the weather will last stable for the whole weekend because we need every minute during practices in good and stable conditions to move forward."
