With his second race win this weekend at the historic TT circuit in the north of the Netherlands, Dominique Aegerter extends his lead in the overall standings to 44 points.

30-year-old WorldSSP rookie Dominique Aegerter made history on Sunday in Assen. With an impressive performance, the experienced rider from the canton of Bern made himself the second Supersport World Championship rider to win five races in a row. Another special feature was also that with the German rider Philipp Öttl in second and Aegerter's compatriot Randy Krummenacher in third place, there were exclusively German-speaking riders on the podium. The course of the race was similar to Saturday afternoon. After briefly studying his direct rivals in the early stages, Aegerter moved to the front of the field after a few laps and from then on, he had everything under control action in commanding fashion.

The next Supersport World Championship meeting will be held in Most, Czech Republic, at the beginning of August.

"Our WSSP visit to Assen was a perfect weekend for us in every respect. However, it was not just any race weekend, it was my team's home race. So, I am particularly pleased for them that we were able to perform so strongly here in front of their home crowd. We were at the top in almost every practice session, plus we took pole position on Saturday and victory in the first race. Today's win was practically the icing on the cake. I do not think we could have achieved more. It is always great to be able to show your full potential. But this time it was unique because of our special livery. Twenty years ago, Ten Kate Racing started racing in this yellow and for this anniversary we contributed a bit of history. In addition, it was nice to race in front of a big crowd of fans again, as well as having some sponsors visiting us."

"About the race itself, I would like to say that the first five laps were another tough battle. But I quickly noticed that I had a small advantage in terms of pace. That was why I immediately took the lead and then I rode my pace. In the last third of the race, I was able to build up a small lead. I enjoyed that. But the last laps were not quite as easy as it might have looked from the outside. I had slight difficulties to keep my concentration upright because I did not feel any pressure anymore. In the end, though, I did not let go anything waste and I am really happy about my fifth consecutive win. It is also reassuring to go home from Assen with a 44-point lead. But before that I think there will be a little party with the team’s Dutch sponsors and partners tonight. They certainly have earned it. That includes the entire crew of the Ten Kate team. They all work tirelessly to keep us moving forward, as well as they gave me a bike again today with that, I was able to win. Thanks guys, you are great, and we will continue like this."
